Women Owned Businesses

Women are growing very substantial businesses, and not in the traditional areas that you'd expect!  We don't just bake cookies and make crafts we're started businesses that can be scaled.  To be considered, the privately held businesses had to have either a female founder with a majority stake or a female leader with some ownership, who runs the company on a day-to-day basis. On average, firms owned by women of color are smaller than Caucasian women-owned firms. African American women-owned firms constitute a 61% majority of African American-owned firms with Latina- owned firms increased by 137%.  Looking across all minority groups, average annual revenues are highest among Asian American women-owned firms.
